Materials, Trash, and Recycling Project

Reflection

The different types of bonding and chemical structure give the atoms specific properties for example if there are free-flowing particles in the chemical makeup and in its chemical compounds such as the free-flowing electrons found in metallic bonding then the material is a better conductor or temperature as well as electricity. This can offset how difficult it is to break apart a material as well as a theme though in which you would use to break apart the said material.

As consumers, we have to be aware of the materials that I by these materials can be anywhere from a mass-produced product to a locally sourced crop. And on a community level, this can be very important. It's the difference between buying a salad in a plastic box or at the store. Not only does buying the salad at our local farmers market support the local businesses and our local economy it also produces less waste creating a lower possibility of it ending up in our local environment. And on a larger scale, this holds pretty true when you by a product you are essentially supporting the company and telling them that you would like to see more of this product that they have created. When a large scale of people don't pay attention to companies that they are shopping from this often will create greater harmful effects on the environment. The company will be motivated to create more of this product and to decrease the price this brings down the quality of the materials and that generally makes them more harmful to the environment.

I learned about the three main chemical bonds what materials they are found in, how you can classify the bonds based on their characteristics, and how this affects the materials that they make up. I learned what a single-use material is as well as what downsizing materials entail. I can also explain and list something related to each of these. Going into both the macroscopic and microscopic points of view. As well as representing the amount of material that we are currently able to decompose using wax worms and how long that process takes. I also had an entirely separate section of research that referenced the damaging effects of having a large quantity of plastic shopping bags and explained how many where used each year in the united states and some of the adverse environmental effect that this causes
